University of Patras - AML

Entec Group of Companies cooperates with the Laboratory of Applied Mechanics and Vibrations of the University of Patras in testing and certifying photovoltaic installations in accordance with EN62446 guideline.

Applied Mechanics and Vibrations Laboratory, University of Patras (AML/UoP) is in operation since 1980. It is part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, University of Patras (UoP). AML/UP deals mainly with the general field of Structures and Materials giving emphasis in the field of Composite Materials and Structures. Topics dealing with the science, technology and applications of Composite Materials are also covered.

Due to its proven know-how in NDT (Non Destructive Testing), since 2003 AML is being involved in the certification of vehicles transporting dangerous goods according to UN/ADR. The vast majority of vehicles produced in Greece are being certified by AML/UoP and currently ADR audits are also supplied abroad.

The legally recognized non-profit status of the laboratory, the impact of its research projects worldwide, their international research cooperation and the unwavering commitment to their vision guarantee that the Laboratory of Applied Mechanics and Vibrations is distinguished not only in research, but also in the field of inspection, control and testing.

The team of AML consists of 5 academic staff members, 6 postdoctoral researchers and at least 40 engineers. Head of the laboratory is Professor Vassilis Kostopoulos.
